Is the wedding cake part of your tradition?
In western culture it is usually a cake of several layers, which usually both the groom and the bride cut the first piece together as a symbol of union. The tradition can also establish that the bride and groom give each other the first cake bites. Once again, this act symbolizes the replacement of the father-son union in favor of the family unit that has just been created.
